1971 Dschungel (jungle) psychedelic Party Haus der Kunst, München Germany.
For offer is a great graphic for an Art event at Munich’s famous Haus Der Kunst in 1971. The imagery is quite striking!
In my research, The "Dschungel" parties were a way for the Nazis to satirize and mock the "degenerate" art they condemned. These parties would often involve the public displaying or celebrating this art, sometimes in a mocking or satirical way. The term "Dschungel" was used to suggest that the art was chaotic and wild, like a "jungle" of untamed emotions and creativity.
Post 1940’s and now the 70’s I am not sure what these parties were but I believe they were made to celebrate ‘Fasching’ (Carnival/Halloween). But this was a costume party (Kostümzwang). But the event, definitely was not celebrating ‘degenerate Art’.
The Poster is very 1971 showing a rare image of a Black girl below the word Jungle. A somewhat psychedelic treatment in style. The Artist signature (upper Right corner) is not legible to me.
