1969 Andy Warhol Electric Chair Conspiracy Means to Breathe Together Chicago '68
This original, large-scale, vintage poster produced in 1969 comes directly from the estate of a Protester that was there. The poster was created to promote an art auction at LoGuidice Gallery Chicago (an Art gallery) in 1969, to benefit the Fund for the Conspiracy Defense that was established to support the legal defense of the Chicago Seven. The Chicago 7 was accused of organizing riots at the 1968 DNC which saw protesters brutally beaten by Mayor Daley's Cops or Thugs. Bobby Seale of the Black Panthers was actually chained to his Court chair with his mouth covered!
The poster aptly features one of Warhol’s iconic Electric Chair paintings from his Disaster series that was a seminal work auctioned off to support this cause. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare and out-of-print poster directly from someone who was there in 1969. It's Beauty marks are its noble existence. Great for your collection!
